The Transport Division is responsible for road safety practices and standards. This Division is responsible for the oversight of services relating to the issuance of driving permits, registration and inspection of motor vehicles, road traffic laws and the collection of associated revenues.  As well, with a renewed focus on service excellence, this organization has been active in continually rolling out new digital and electronic services to improve the consumer experience at all office locations.

Motor Vehicle Registration and Control


In accordance with the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Act Chapter 48:50, the Transport Commissioner represents the Transport Division. The specific functions and duties of the Division include the following:

  • Issuance of Taxi Badge​s

  • Issuance of  Road Permits

  • Issuance of Certified Copies 

  • Registration of motor vehicles

  • Inspection of motor vehicles 

  • Issuance of driver's permits

  • Directing the  traffic census

  • Executing government policy in the area of maxi taxi operations

  • Supervising private testing stations

  • Regulating the Private School Bus System

  • ​Collection of the associated revenues

Online Certified Copy Application

To obtain a Certified Copy, users are required to complete the following steps:
  1. Visit https://onlinecertifiedcopy.mowt.gov.tt/

  2. Enter their vehicle registration number (e.g. PXX1234)

  3. Review and complete the online application

  4. Select a delivery method – Home/office delivery or ttconnect pickup

  5. Make payment online via Credit Card

  6. Submit the application and receive a confirmation email

  7. Await processing and receive the Certified Copy by the chosen delivery method

Disability Parking Permit

 

APPLICATION FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITY PARKING PERMIT(S)
Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic (Persons with Disability Parking Permit) Regulations, 2024

 
Persons or Organisations wishing to apply for a Disability Parking Permit must complete and submit an application form, with their relevant supporting documents, as indicated in the forms attached below.
  
All applications MUST be submitted with a copy of the receipt in accordance with the required fees. Payments can be made at any Licensing Office:   
Fees for the issue, renewal or a duplicate disability parking permit are as follows:   

  1. Disability Parking Permit (Individual) $150.00
  2. Disability Parking Permit (Visitor) $150.00
  3. Disability Parking Permit (Entity, Organisation or Corporation) $200.00
  4. Duplicate Disability Parking Permit $75.00
Persons with permanent disability are not required to pay the application fee.
