Who we are
The Traffic Management Branch was designed to enhance traffic flow and provide a safe and forgiving road network for all users through engineering and behavior modification. The Division is also driven to enhance a traffic environment for better socio-economic activities in Trinidad. The Traffic Management exists to integrate road users and the road network system with an aim to create that harmonious relationship between them.

Our Role
The Traffic Management is responsible for the management and control of vehicular traffic and pedestrian traffic on the road network system of Trinidad by:
- Traffic Engineering and Transport Planning
- Implementing and monitoring road traffic regulations;
- Monitoring, Surveying and Optimizing the operations Public Transportation, People and Vehicular Movement;
- Coordinating and implementing strategies to reduce travel times;
- Continuously gathering road traffic data;
- Conducting accident analyses;
- Promoting and enhancing road safety; and,
- Facilitating the effective operations of all traffic control devices such as, pavement markings, road traffic signs, traffic signals, and speed humps on the road network system.
