On January 10th, 2025 at the Ministry’s Head Office, Senator the Honourable Randall Mitchell, Minister of Tourism, Culture and the Arts presented the cheques to Pan Trinbago, in the total sum of two million, four hundred and twenty thousand dollars ($2,420,000.00), going towards one hundred and forty-nine (149) Unsponsored Steelbands.

GOVERNMENT INCREASES FUNDING FOR UNSPONSORED STEELBANDS AND STEELPAN PLAYERS FOR CARNIVAL 2025

The Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and the Arts is pleased to announce that the Cabinet of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago has approved increased funding for unsponsored Steelbands and Steelpan players. These measures, introduced in preparation for Carnival 2025, aim to enhance participation in Panorama and foster greater inclusivity within the Steelband community.

STAR GLOBAL PRODUCTIONS LIMITED SELECTED TO DEVELOP AND MANAGE AN INTERNATIONAL, PREMIER SOCA COMPETITION FOR CARNIVAL 2025

The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts is pleased to announce the selection of Star Global Productions Limited (SGP), which is part of a joint venture between The Lollabee Group, Jerome Precilla, Adrian Chandler and others with expertise in television production and events management, for the development and management of an international, premier Soca competition for Carnival 2025.

KLM EXPANDS FLIGHT SCHEDULE TO MEET GROWING TRAVEL DEMANDS TO DESTINATION TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has once again increased the frequency of its flights from Amsterdam, Netherlands to Port of Spain, Trinidad for the 2024-2025 Winter Season (October 2024 to March 2025). The increase now includes five (5) flights per week for winter season, with the possibility of six (6) flights per week during the peak Carnival 2025 period.

Air Canada Returns to Port of Spain

The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts is excited to welcome the return of Air Canada’s non-stop service between Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), Canada and Piarco International Airport (POS), Trinidad. The four-times-weekly flights, year-round, commencing on May 1st, 2025 will further enhance connectivity and economy of travel between Canada and Trinidad and Tobago, providing travellers with greater access to this vibrant Caribbean destination.
